This turkey sloppy joes recipe is easy to make and perfect for a easy and quick meal. Plus, it’s healthy and packed with flavor. So whos ready to make homemade sloppy joes for a quick dinner.
Ground Turkey

I used ground turkey in this recipe because of how lean it is and how low calories it is. You can of course use beef, or ground chicken or make them vegetarian by just using vegetables or vegetarian meat substitutes.
Worcestershire Sauce
I used Worcestershire sauce in this recipe because it gives the meat more flavor and helps to prevent it from drying out as most lean meats can easily do.
Bell Peppers

Bell peppers are a great way to add more vegetables to this dish as well as texture and they also help to give it more color. You can use any color of bell pepper that you like or have on hand. In this recipe, we are using red pepper and green peppers.
Seasoning
Keep it simple here with just a seasoning packet. Recipes don’t have to be complicated to taste great so for this recipe a simple seasoning packet will do. If you want to add a little kick to your meal add some Chili powder, cayenne pepper and hot sauce.
Tomato Sauce
I love using tomato sauce in this recipe because it gives the turkey a nice depth of flavor and also helps to bind everything together. You can also use a combination of tomato paste and water or pasta sauce.
Buns
I used plain hamburger buns for this recipe because they are simple and work well but you can use any type of bun you want. You can also make sliders out of this recipe by using dinner rolls or slider buns.
