What Steak Should I use?

Steak And Rice Bowl That Will Satisfy

There are many different types of steak that you could use for this recipe. We recommend using a sirloin steak, as it is a leaner cut of meat and it is less expensive than other cuts of steak. You could also use a flank steak or skirt steak, or even a filet mignon. The important thing is to make sure that the steak is cooked to your liking. If you are cooking for a larger group you may want to use flank or skirt steak. We recommend cooking it medium, as it will be more tender and juicy.

What Rice Should I use?

Rice For Steak And Rice Bowl That Will Satisfy

For this recipe, we recommend using jasmine rice. Jasmine rice is long-grain rice that has a light and fluffy texture. It is also very aromatic, and it pairs well with the steak. You could also use white rice, brown rice, wild rice, or cauliflower rice.

How Should I Cook My Rice?

We recommend cooking your rice in a pressure cooker. Pressure cookers take extra stress of having to keep an eye on your rice. You simply set it up and move on to your next task. If you don’t have a pressure cooker you can just use a regular pot to cook your rice in.

Why It’s Important To Let The Steak Sit Before Cooking?

steak

When you cook steak, it is important to let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This allows the steak to cook evenly and prevents it from being overcooked on the outside and raw on the inside. The result will be a more tender and juicy steak.

Why Cook The Steak Whole?

Steak And Rice Bowl That Will Satisfy

We recommend cooking the steak whole because it is easier to slice and the end result is a tender and juicy steak. Sliced steak cooks faster and it will be more likely to dry out. This is especially true with leaner cuts of meat as they have less fat.

Why Use Butter When Cooking The Steak?

Steak And Rice Bowl That Will Satisfy

Butter is a great way to add flavor to the steak. It also helps to keep the steak moist and juicy. You could also use olive oil, but we find that butter works best. You don’t need a lot, the goal is to just use a spoon or basting brush to coat the steak and keep it from drying out while cooking.

The Sauce.

sauce

The sauce is what really makes this steak and rice bowl special. When you cut a steak the outside is seasoned but the inside is not. So drizzling sauce over the steak adds more flavor and creaminess due to the sour cream to not only the steak but the rice as well.

What If I Don’t Want To Make My Own Sauce?

sauces

You could use steak sauce, BBQ sauce, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, sour cream or even hot sauce. If you are using a store-bought sauce, we recommend using one that is not too thick. This way it will coat the steak and rice without being too heavy.
